The rules for using Nexus, an all-in-one Discord server bot providing moderation, economy, leveling, tickets, music, and community tools.
Effective: August 6, 2026Applies to: all servers using NexusGoverning platform: Discord
01
Acceptance of terms
By adding Nexus to a Discord server, or by using any command Nexus provides in a server it has joined, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are a server administrator adding Nexus on behalf of a community, you're agreeing on behalf of that community as well as yourself. If you don't agree with these terms, don't add or use Nexus.
Nexus is a Discord application that provides, at a server administrator's discretion: moderation and auto-moderation tools, a leveling and virtual economy system, support tickets, giveaways, a starboard, reaction roles, music playback, a soundboard, server setup wizards, and assorted utility commands.
Nexus is an independently operated hobby project, not a company or registered business. Features may be added, changed, or removed at any time, and the service is provided on a best-effort basis with no guaranteed uptime.
03
Eligibility
You must meet Discord's own minimum age and account requirements to use Discord at all, and by extension to use Nexus. We don't independently verify age or identity beyond what Discord itself provides.
04
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Nexus to:
Violate Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or any applicable law
Harass, threaten, or deceive other users, including through impersonation
Attempt to exploit, reverse-engineer, spam, or overload Nexus's commands or infrastructure
Circumvent moderation actions, rate limits, or cooldowns built into any command
Upload or trigger the bot to send content that is illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights
Violating this section may result in your access to specific commands or the bot as a whole being restricted, independent of any action a server's own moderators take.
05
Server administrators
Many of Nexus's features, such as auto-moderation word filters, warning escalation, account age gating, and channel restrictions, are configured entirely by each server's own administrators through commands like /config and /setup. Administrators are responsible for how they configure these features and for the moderation decisions made using them.
Nexus executes the settings a server's administrators choose. We aren't a party to, and don't mediate, disputes between a server's staff and its members over how those settings were applied.
06
Virtual currency and items
Nexus's economy system (coins earned through /daily, /work, invites, and similar commands, and items purchased through a server's /shop) exists only within Discord and only within the server it was earned in. It has no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for real currency, isn't transferable between servers, and can be reset or removed at any time without compensation.
07
User-uploaded content
Some commands, such as /soundboard, let server members with the appropriate permission upload files (audio clips) that Nexus stores and plays back on request. You're responsible for having the right to upload anything you submit, and for making sure it complies with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. We may remove uploaded content at our discretion.
08
Availability and changes
Nexus depends on Discord's own platform and, for some features, on free third-party services it has no control over. We don't guarantee that Nexus, or any specific command, will be available at all times, or that it will always behave identically to how it's described in its documentation. Commands, features, and this document may change without advance notice.
09
Suspension and termination
A server's own administrators can remove Nexus from their server at any time. We may also suspend or block a specific user's, or an entire server's, access to Nexus, for violations of these terms or of Discord's own policies, or for any other reason at our discretion.
10
Disclaimer of warranties
Nexus is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that Nexus will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.
11
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nexus's operator isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Nexus, including loss of data, virtual currency, or server content, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
12
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continuing to use Nexus after an update takes effect means you accept the revised terms. We'll update the effective date above whenever a change is made.
13
